SAI Co-Star in Frank Sinatra LIVE at the London Paladium
The latest hit musical to grace the Stage of the London Palladium is Frank Sinatra LIVE! And SAI is proud to be part of the success.
Stage set designer Mike Barnett selected the SAI Hydraulic Motor to give smooth movement to the Propeller of a Dakota DC3 Aircraft .
The idea was for the Dancers to step from the wing of the Plane onto the Propeller and be lowered to the floor under fine control. To make this possible, it was necessary to make the Propeller with 3 blades rather than the 4 which the Dakota would have had. We wonder how many people have spotted that artistic license! Let us know if you did.
The selection of the SAI Motor was made due to its virtually silent operation, a critical factor in stage presentations, plus its high efficiency resulting in the propeller maintaining a constant speed, both when driving light and on overrun when being “driven” by the Dancers, of varying weights, as they are gently lowered to the stage.
This electrifying new show marks legendary performer Frank Sinatra's latest, greatest and most ambitious comeback.
At the heart of the show is Sinatra himself captured at the peak of his career singing his greatest hit songs direct to the audience in ultra rare, and some never before seen footage.
Ground breaking creative use of cutting edge technology puts him centre stage larger than life on multiple moving screens and lets him perform with a brilliant company of dancers and singers supported by a 24 piece live Orchestra of the best Musicians in London together performing some of the greatest Music ever recorded.
This new 5 million pound stage spectacular is an experience unlike anything you have seen before in the theatre, Award winning Director David Leveaux takes the audience on an emotional roller coaster ride through the extraordinary life stunning music and turbulent times of the entertainer who’s career dominated the 20th Century and who was the world’s most popular entertainer ever.
